A CMS system which is also called a Content Management System is a web-based software that you can use to edit your website without any knowledge of programming languages like HTML, PHP, CSS and other types of programming.

It runs with WYSIWYG concept known from text editing tools such as. Microsoft Word, where you type the text into the screen you want displayed and you can insert images just by few mouse clicks.

There are many different open source CMS systems such as. Joomla, WordPress, e107 and many others. The advantage of a CMS system is that you can quickly and easily edit in your home page, without requiring you to get hold of the company’s web manager.

You can create multiple users with different user privileges, so each user only has access to the area that he or she is affiliated with. There are also plenty of opportunities to further build on the company’s website with extra modules and plugins.
